Vanderbeken trey sinks McDermott, Jays

Sunday?s game between the ISU men?s basketball team and Creighton did not lack storylines or drama that is for certain. Jamie Vanderbeken buried a 35-foot bomb at the buzzer to give the Cyclones (4-0) a 91-88 win over the Bluejays (3-1) and coach Greg McDermott, who was coaching at Iowa State just over six months before the game.

Cyclones drop tough tilt to Missouri

On Senior Night at Jack Trice Stadium, the ISU football team gave 15th-ranked Missouri all it could handle for 60 minutes. The Cyclones (5-7, 3-5 Big 12) actually outgained the Tigers (9-2, 5-2) 332-306 but Missouri was able to take advantage of a few Iowa State miscues and pick up a 14-0 win in front of a crowd of 41,776.
