Baylor Mourns Death of Thornton Sterling
1 Dec 2008 at 1:58pm Marion Thornton Sterling, Baylor University's oldest living letterwinner, passed away Saturday evening at Providence Hospital in Waco. Sterling, 95, lettered for Baylor's baseball team during the 1934, 1935 and 1936 seasons. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. CST at First Baptist Church of Waco.

Men's Hoops Falls to No. 19 Wake Forest at 76 Classic

Williams had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Jeff Teague added 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists to help No. 19 Wake Forest beat Baylor 87-74 on Sunday night in the 76 Classic championship game. Baylor led 36-31 early in the second half, but Wake Forest used a 16-1 run to move ahead 49-37 with 13:20 to play.
